Fall Protection Inspection at Olympia Exhibition Centre

The Challenge
The key requirement was to complete a detailed inspection of the existing fall protection equipment while minimising disruption to the venue.
With exhibitions and events taking place throughout the year, the inspection programme needed to be carefully coordinated around Olympia’s event schedule.
Access also presented a challenge, with equipment located in areas requiring specialist methods to allow the inspection team to reach it safely and efficiently.
The Solution
Eurosafe used a combination of rope access and MEWP access to reach the fall protection equipment throughout the venue.
Using both methods allowed the team to select an appropriate access solution for the different locations being inspected.
Rope access provided an effective way of reaching difficult areas, while MEWP access was used where powered access was more appropriate.
Careful planning and coordination with the venue enabled the inspection works to progress around scheduled events, helping to minimise the impact on Olympia’s operations.
The Outcome
The statutory inspection was successfully completed on time, providing Olympia Events with a detailed assessment of its MSA Latchways fall protection equipment.
Most importantly, the work was delivered without disruption to the venue’s event schedule.
The project demonstrates Eurosafe’s ability to combine specialist access techniques with fall protection inspection expertise to deliver inspection programmes within complex, operational environments.
