The Challenge
Event riggers regularly work at height within The O2’s roof structure to support concerts, sporting events and other live productions.
Additional fall protection coverage was required to provide safer access to specific areas of the roof space. Due to the scale and complexity of the structure, the solution needed to accommodate challenging access conditions while providing a practical system for those working within the space.
The Solution
Eurosafe provided a complete solution, from initial survey and specialist design through to bespoke fabrication and installation.
Our internal specialist design team developed bespoke bracketry for MSA overhead cable systems, ensuring the new fall protection systems could be effectively integrated with the existing roof structure.
To overcome the challenging installation environment, Eurosafe’s specialist technicians used rope access methods to reach the required areas. This provided a safe and efficient means of completing the installation without relying on conventional access equipment within the complex roof space.
By combining in-house design expertise, bespoke engineering and rope access capability, Eurosafe was able to manage both the technical and access requirements of the project.
The Outcome
The project was successfully completed on time, providing AEG with a safe and practical solution for event riggers working within The O2’s roof space.
The additional MSA overhead cable systems extend fall protection coverage across the required areas, supporting safer access for teams working at height within this unique venue.
The project highlights Eurosafe’s ability to deliver bespoke fall protection and safe access solutions for complex structures, combining specialist design, engineering and rope access installation within a single coordinated service.
