East London Arts & Music

Safety Circle steps used in this project

ELAMELAM is a world-class 16-19 Academy which opened in one of the most deprived areas of the UK. ELAM offers young people everything that they will need to lead successful lives within the music, games design and film and television sectors – the Recognition, the Access and the Relevant skills to become ‘Industry Ready’.

East London Arts & Music - Case Study

The requirement

Our scope of work was to provide safe access at the roof level for:

  • Maintenance of photovoltaic panels

  • General roof access & maintenance

ELAM, KalzipPost

The solution

We chose the MSA Latchways Constant Force® Post (CFP) cable system for a complete rooftop fall protection solution. It is the only system approved by Kalzip, who supplied the roof at ELAM.

The roof-mounted cable system provided a non-penetrative solution, that could be flexibly designed around the requirements of the photovoltaic panels.

The system was designed to keep the operatives in a 'fall restraint' position at all times, whilst accessing the roof area.
