The Client
The Haymarket Building required a specialist access solution to enable cleaning and maintenance teams to safely reach the underside of the building's atrium.
In addition to general cleaning access, the system needed to provide hands-on access to the sprinkler system, allowing essential inspection and maintenance activities to be carried out safely and efficiently.
The Requirements
The client required a practical access system capable of reaching areas beneath the atrium that would otherwise be difficult to access using conventional methods.
The solution needed to provide operatives with a stable working platform for cleaning, inspection and maintenance while minimising the visual impact of the access equipment within the atrium when it was not required.
The Solution
Working alongside our specialist partner NorAcon, Eurosafe provided a monorail access system with a demountable modular cradle.
The monorail system enables the cradle to travel along the required areas beneath the atrium, providing operatives with safe and practical access for cleaning and maintenance activities.
To facilitate close access to the sprinkler system and other areas above the working position, the cradle incorporated a hop-up platform, allowing operatives to safely reach the required working height.
The modular cradle was also designed to be demountable, allowing it to be removed from the monorail and stored when not required. This was particularly important within the atrium environment, where maintaining a clean and unobstructed appearance was a key consideration.
The Outcome
The completed system provides a flexible and practical long-term access solution for the Haymarket Building, enabling safe access to the underside of the atrium and its sprinkler system for ongoing cleaning, inspection and maintenance.
The combination of the monorail, modular cradle and integrated hop-up platform provides effective hands-on access to otherwise difficult-to-reach areas.
When not in use, the cradle can be removed and stored, helping to minimise the visual impact of the access system and maintain the architectural appearance of the atrium.
