What motivated you to undertake an apprenticeship?

I wanted to undertake an apprenticeship as this would allow me to get out into the world of work and start my career journey. I am very ambitious and have big visions for my working future. An apprenticeship such as this one allows me to get real experience in the world of work, whilst continuing my academic learning and being able to apply this back into the world of work. Also for my future, the combined effects of experience and continual learning though a degree are highly distinguishable.

What was it that made you look to construction as opposed to other sectors?

The construction industry is an ever changing ever-growing industry. With new technologies comes exciting new buildings and projects to get involved within. The construction industry is also a very broad industry, and therefore there are also many future routes that can be pursued. I also chose construction as this would enable me to have a sense of accomplishment when projects are finished, whilst being able to demonstrate creativity throughout when looking for solutions. The construction industry is also one of the largest industries in the UK, there will always be a requirement to build, rebuild or renovate buildings in the future.

What has been a standout moment since you started at Eurosafe?

A standout moment for me has to be securing my first project last year which was Sheffield United Football Club. I worked with the client to establish the best solution for their requirements and then assisted once the order was in place. Our contracts department exposed me to their roles and responsibilities and then I attended the site with our installations team to learn how to fit the system I had sold. This project is a standout project for me because it is on a Sheffield Landmark, and is where my Eurosafe Journey began. The project gave me a full 360-degree view from initial enquiry through to the final commissioning of the system. This has then given me the roots from which to develop my experience in the industry.

How has Eurosafe supported your journey?

Eurosafe has supported me on this journey by starting me on the apprenticeship programme. From this moment forward the support from the team at Eurosafe has been unbelievable, all of the staff are fully invested in helping me develop as a working individual. Eurosafe has given me the required tools and knowledge base to be able to service clients needs, and also given me time when needed to further my academic studies while within the workplace.

What advice would you give to someone trying to decide the next step in their career path?

Just go for it and do it! You have to take a risk to reap the rewards. Always look for opportunities to further develop your learning both academically and practically.
